I have one that really shows itself when i'm watching a widescreen movie (i.e. black bars at the top and bottom), yet it's still difficult to capture on camera.

Has anyone had this?
Any idea what could be causing it?
Is it a cause for concern/should I be calling applecare?

Thanks a lot.

I never noticed it before until I watched a movie and played a game. Even the 20 inch has DREADFUL backlight bleeding, almost all of them are pretty bad. On my Mac the title and close/zoom/minimize buttons and the bottom with the resize side are 2 different shades of gray, the one on the bottom is very light and the top is normal.

It's driving me nuts but I keep hearing that pretty much every iMac has been having this problem. :(

Plenty of threads on this. Backlight bleeding is a fact of life for the current iMac lineup.

Try my approach. Don't worry about it. When the time comes, sell it on and upgrade. Providing Apple have fixed the screen problems of course.
