Hi guys,

I have an M2 MacBook Air and I weirdly can't adjust the brightness of my 2010 Apple Cinema Display with it despite it being plugged into USB (a requirement for the brightness adjustment to work).

-The USB works fine, I can charge and connect peripherals through it.
-I made sure the monitor was the main display in settings.
-No adjustment slider comes up for the monitor in Display Settings.
-The brightness buttons on the laptop keyboard and external keyboard don't do anything but change the laptop screen brightness.
-Closing the laptop lid and only running the main display does nothing.

Has anyone run into this before? It works fine on my 16 inch MBP so I'm wondering if it's some weird M2 specific issue.

Sorry to hear that and I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'm trying to connect my old Apple Cinema Display to my M2 MBA and have not had any success at all. I just get a black screen. I have the now discontinued Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI Adapter and from there I then have tried the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and an 3rd party Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter I bought on Amazon and neither have worked. How did you get your Cinema Display to even show up?
