I am noticing some weird behavior on my new IPhone XS.

1. I can’t use the shortcuts on the the lock screen for camera and flashlight - they do not do anything at all
2. Podcasts all has several weird behaviors: podcasts aren’t downloading in the background, even though they are marked to download new episodes, download on cellular and work in the background. When I manually try to initiate a download, the app crashes when the download is finished. When I reopen it plays fine.

Anyone else noticing some weirdness on your phone?

For number 1 did you do a long press? It’s not a single tap to make those 2 work

Thanks, that was a really long press and quite unintuitive compared to the old behavior.

Seems like it would be more of a 3D Touch press (as in a harder press) vs a long press. (And, our of curiosity, which old behavior are we talking about?)

On my iPhone 8 on iOS 11 it was just a normal tap.

I seem to remember the same. Maybe it’s an iOS 12 change to prevent inadvertent activation when locked. A normal yap works from control center but the lock screen does require a force touch.

X-style phones require 3D Touch on the camera/flashlight icons. This is because the phone can wake with a screen tap, unlike other series.

Dunno about the podcast problem. Try removing app and re-downloading.
