Was thinking of putting it up on Craigslist, but wasn't sure what the market is for them nor what should be done before selling.

Anyone sell their phone and have some experince to share?

One specific question, aside from backing it up and erasing the phone, should I sell it without the sim card?

I sold mine when after I bought my 3GS.

I left the SIM inside (by accident- I just forgot to take it out), but it didn't matter. My service was already transferred over to my new iPhone and the new SIM it came with. Plus, if you want to allow the buyer to test the iPhone out, you need to leave the SIM in so that you can actually use it.

I sold my 16 GB 1st gen for $375. I posted it on Craigslist, but ended up selling it to the Apple Store employee that helped me buy my 3GS! I may have been able to get more on Craigslist, but she was really nice and it was a safe sale (and she told me that I could use her Apple Store friends and family discount if I'm buying something and she's at the store).

Just make sure you do 'Erase all Content and Settings' before you sell it.

Make sure you meet in a public place to make the sale.
