Using my new 12.9”, with an ASK that I am using for the first time today. Everything was fine, then I closed the cover for a while and... all I get is the onscreen keyboard. Tried restarting IPP, opening and closing the ASK, taking it on and off, both positions, cleaning the contacts, etc. No dice.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anything else to try?

Really odd. You could try restoring your iPad but really it sounds like you got a dud ASk. Happens to all products from all companies, some bad units slip into the retail chain. Go exchange it.
