Hi there,
Picked up my new M1 MacBook Air today and am loving it so far however, I'm running into an issue downloading/installing apps from the Mac App Store. They will get to the end of the download (show xx mb of xx mb) and just sit there. If I restart system they disappear and if I try and redownload I just get a persistent "Installing" status on the app.

Perhaps this is Big Sur related as well but if anyone happens to know of a work around I'd appreciate the insight! Thanks!

Well I just let it cook and it looks to have finally completed. Also reading that some others are having the same issue related to Big Sur 11.0.1.

I have had some troubles yesterday , today seems fine.

one thing I noticed....you can't install any iOS app that currently has a OSX app out. which really sucks.

like notability , I wanted to install the iPad version since I'm used to it , but I can't because they have a OS X version already.

That's the dev's choice IIRC.

What you could do is side-load the IPA file from your iOS device using iMazing.
