I am getting photos from people in my messages, and I can’t open them. It has the arrow to click to download (where it would normally just be the picture), I click it, and nothing.

Anyone else? It’s happening on my phone AND iPad, and these are pics from my kids’ phones.

Check yours and kids iMessage settings

What would I be looking for? These are my adult children, and we have always exchanged pictures in our text threads. I know I haven’t changed anything (other than my phone, but I moved everything over), so IDK what to look for.

Make sure that iMessage is activated for the phone number. I guess you all are using iPhone. Normally when someone sends message from an Android to iPhone, There can be some glitches in operator's side and pictures may not come through.

All iPhones, and the iMessages are activated. It’s weird. I have never had this issue getting a photo. It just shows up like a box and says jpeg with a download arrow, but when I click it, nothing happens. Very frustrating.

Try that. If it doesn’t help, a complete reset may be needed. Have you spoken to Apple about it?
No, not yet. I figured I’d ask here first in case anyone else was having issues and might have a quick fix.
