It's not worth the money, and unless you're running some VERY memory intensive applications or just have money to blow, why would you need it?

FWIW, I have 4 GB in my MacBook, and I usually have 1 to 1.5 GB free.

However, I don't run anything that you would call memory-intensive.

But, if you feel like maxing that baby out, go for it.
