It is by far one of the best aspects of jail breaking. I use the shortcut gestures everyday.

I have a problem though, when using the status bar swipe to skip to the next song, the phone does not sense the touch screen gesture and it goes back to sleep after a few seconds.

Very annoying because if I'm skipping through songs I have to keep reawakening the phone.

Is there a way to get the phone to recognize that the touch screen is being used to keep it from falling asleep? This is a stupid oversight in my opinion

I love activator too.
Maybe find another gesture or button combo to do what you need without having to use the screen.
There's tons of options and things you can do with activator to customize shortcuts or items you use a lot.

What do you mean? The phone is almost entirely touch screen lol

I miss Activator. ); I could use my 4 without ever having to press the Home button. Except when exiting full screen apps that hide the status bar..

I suggest setting the volume button (hold) as your skip/previous controls for Music. That way you don't even have to turn the screen on.

Also if you like gestures I highly recommend Zephyr. You will have little need for the home button it's quite cool

Yeah?

Sound idea, although I kinda like the display to show me what song it is

Ok so I've pinpointed that the problem is only in when the phone is in lock screen. Is there any way to adjust these settings or make it do it doesn't fall back asleep so quickly?

You can set the lockscreen time to higher intervals but then your battery will die faster if your screen is always on or longer.

Where can I adjust the lock screen time? Keep in mind I am NOT talking about the time before the phone locks, but the time before the lock screen turns to black

I use lockinfo which has this feature built in. But I believe there is a cydia tweak that allows you to delay the screen from dimming while on the lockscreen.

Settings, general, auto lock.

I'm not trying to be rude, but did you not read my post? I made the point of saying that I was NOT talking about the time before your phone locks, but the amount of time it takes before the illuminated lock screen turns off.

Yes I use it all the time because of my stupid paranoia over my Mac.

Oh wait nevermind, I thought you said activity monitor. lol

OP, I know exactly what you're talking about. Touching the screen when it's locked or when using an Activator gesture doesn't reset the time it takes to lock the screen again. If you want a longer time to stay in the lockscreen so you can do your gestures, move the Lock slider. That resets lock time.

Not sure. I'll look into it for you and see if I can find it. If I find it I'll let you know ASAP.

Hey, found it. Thanks homey!

It's called Lockscreen dim delay. The only problem is now I'm not sure if I want to have it stay lit when I'm not skipping through songs, which is the majority of the time! What I really need is for it to somehow detect touchscreen activity like the activator gesture so it doesn't dim after a few seconds. Aggghh!

Sorry about that, didnt know exactly what you were asking for.
Glad you found the package you were looking for.

Awesome. I knew it was something just like that. I'm glad you found it. Regarding your problem, why don't you just press the sleep button after you initiate the activator gesture? Or just shorten the delay?

Sleep button?
