Anyone here still using Slink?

For many years I used Slink to connect to my home network, when I was at work. I have an always-on server at home that runs the Slink server. The client software on my remote Mac connects to the server and then tunnels all Bonjour-related communications through that tunnel. This let’s me open a screen-sharing by doing a Connect to Server… in the Finder to

vnc://homeserver.local

In recent months, perhaps since upgrading to Catalina, this has no longer worked. Maybe it’s been since the advent of Mojave. Could it be that the client software can no longer access my ssh keys in

~/.ssh/

I really have no idea and am hoping that some reader has solved this same problem for him- or herself.

Yes! The problem is a couple of years ago started complaining on Twitter About Apple Security! Tim saw this so the current Mac OS with the T2 chip has good encoding capability so some like it But Audio users absolutely hate the lock down Security in Mac OS!

So to over come over the lock down you have to boot into Recover Mode) and use the Finder Window Security pane to turn of and allow remote connectio!

I am not sure, exactly, what you mean. When I boot into Recovery Mode, I don’t get access to the Finder. In further looking at the page you linked I came across a link to the Startup Security Utility. Is that where I would need to make changes to the configuration?

Would you mind being a little bit more specific? What changes do you have to make exactly, in order to make Slink work?

Sense Slink is gone (not updated sense 2014) Then try the excellent CyberDuck! It’s really great sense it is free!

Plus the free excellent Bonjour Browser might be an match for Slink!
