I've done this and it's fantastic. Works without hiccups. (After the new MyWi update, the old one had some troubles shutting down the app but it wasn't horrible, just tedious at times.) I stopped using it though as it is quite expensive unless you have a decent data plan. But over all no issues experienced.

I'm confused. Expensive? You're using your unlimited plan from your phone. How is it expensive?

For me it works great too. I'm still using non iOS4 version on my 3Gs and haven't had any problems yet. The longest I've been on at one time is only 10 minutes though. Just quick little sessions when I'm out of the house.

It was a lifesaver for me this past week when I was in business meetings where I couldn't get wifi AND in my hotel room, which was located about six feet past where the hotel's wifi reached. *sigh* Thank god for MyWi.

i DID use mywi, until i got my iphone 4. it hasn't been jailbroken yet but im patiently waiting. mywi is definitely an amazing thing to have, especially with the amazing battery on my iphone 4 and the "improved" antenna should be able to broadcast wifi much better than my 3gs. as long as i dont touch it

I tried this with another smartphone (1 year old) and it killed the battery in a little bit over an hour.

I'm glad that I still had the option for the AT&T unlimited plan.

Works fine for me. I've never activated the 3G on my iPad. I use MyWi solely. I bought the 3G for the GPS.

I have strictly used miwi for my iPad since i have gotten my iPad (recently moved and haven't gotten cable/net in our house yet... It has worked fantastically. AT&T 3G Is most definitely fast, works perfectly with the iPad, and I basically just leave my phone plugged in all day.. Works out perfectly for now haha..

It is amazing. It's cheaper to just pay AT&T one bill per month as opposed to two. Plus, I saved $130 in hard dollars between just buying the wifi vs. 3G iPad
