Anyone here using comcast for internet?

I have been using Clear Internet for the past 2 months and I am thinking about trying Comcast since sometimes my connection with Clear hovers around 500-700 kb per second. They supposedly throttle people that go over 8gb per month and I am well over that at this point. Can anyone here comment on using Comcast? Everything I see online says that comcast sucks and I will primariy be using this to watch netflix and download from the apple store. They are promising up to 20 MB per second which I am not expecting but I do want to enjoy a HD movie in the evening which is something I cannot really do with Clear. One of the main things I need to know is how is streaming quality and is there a lot of buffering? Also, do Apple movie downloads start fairly quickly?

I'm in MD and use the $45/mo plan. I do fine streaming with it. Have very to little no buffering. The most complaints I've heard about Comcast is when it comes time to cancel, but I haven't been down that road yet.

Comcast has the worst customer service imaginable, and their 250 GB data cap sucks, but they don't throttle speeds in my area. See pics below. Also, they're probably promising 20Mb, not 20MB. 20Mb ÷ 8b per 1B = 2.5MB. I see that and then some all the time.

I have Comcast in MN, the "up to 12Mbps" plan. When I did the speed test last night, I got anything from 5 to over 12Mbps download depending on the server I use in the test.

MY SETUP FOR GOOD NETWORK
I have a signal booster on my cable that I added 11 years ago because splitting my signal to two rooms downgraded the quality. My cable modem is connected by ethernet cable to my Time Capsule in my office. The TC manages the dns for all devices and sends signal wirelessly about 15ft to my livingroom where I have an Airport Extreme inside my wooden tv credenza to extend the network and keep the signal strong. The Extreme is connected by ethernet cable to my AppleTV that's on top of the credenza and to a hard drive by usb. I use an old macbook G4 with 1 gig ram for the iTunes which connects wirelessly.

So far with the new ATV and this setup, I stream everything great; Netflix, media (music/720pmovies/720p tv shows/photos) off a hard drive, and I just watched my first HD rental from iTunes. It ran smooth as silk the entire time. I had to laugh because with all the complaining people on these forums, I thought I would have time to nuke dinner while it was buffering but it said it was ready to play two seconds after I authorized payment. I did take four minutes to make something to eat and it was about 3/4s of the way through buffering when I started and it ran perfectly.

I think the majority of people who have issues fall under two main categories: their network speed/strength/stability stinks and/or they are trying to stream self-ripped movies that aren't optimized to run on the AppleTV.

What sort of usage are you doing if you are using close to 250gb per month? I'm hoping I can stay under the cap but I plan to do 2 to 4 hours of netflix a day and a occasional apple tv download.

You guys have convinced me to try com cast especially the setup you have laurim. Right now with clear, I have never seen a speed higher than 7mb and I have a tower 100 feet from my house. I guess clear is just better for mobile Internet.
