I'm looking to buy a 32" LCD TV for my room next year and I'm just looking for something that has a good picture and a good price. I was wondering if anybody had a good site that sells TVs for cheap or somewhere that I'll get a good deal. Also, I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what brands you guys like.

Thanks!

Thanks... I know about this, but it just doesn't yield results that I'm looking for. I'd rather buy a TV from somewhere other than something like jimmysfaketvs.com.

If you don't mind used, try searching the craigslist listings in your area. You can find some great deals. Just be cautious. :)

Yeah, I looked in my area, but nobody is really selling anything that I'm interested in at the moment :(

Just check the usual suspects, like Amazon, Newegg, etc. Someone mentioned Costco - they often have good deals.

As for brands, you have three general categories: 1) your high-quality, respected name brands, 2) your solid but cheaper names, and 3) brands you should stay away from. Name brands include the usual suspects, such as Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, etc. Then you have brands like Vizio, which Costco sells a lot of. Very solid brand without some of the bells and whistles. Stay away from brands like Olevia and Westinghouse, and all those no-name Chinese brands you've never heard of before.

For what it's worth, I have a Toshiba REGZA that I bought because it was cheaper than comparable Samsung models but still looked great to me. Plus, my previous tube TV was a Toshiba and I loved it.

Bought my panasonic plasma from Mountavision.com. They matched almost any price you could find on the web. And the service was outstanding. Highly recommended.

well, when you search you get many product results - i'm sure you can fish out the good from the bad, and the recent from the old.

my chain of events: find what you want on best buy and look for it elsewhere

Maybe I am missing something...

You are looking for a tv to buy next year but you are not happy with what you are finding on craigslist right now? There is bound to be something on craigslist between now and when you want to buy NEXT YEAR. Just keep your eyes open and check the sites that everyone is recommending. There are some good recommendations already listed. A lot of times you find the best deals in unsuspecting places.

Good luck!

Sorry, next year = next semester which is only in a few months. I will, and I have been, checking Craigslist to see if there is anything popping up, but I might be more satisfied with a new TV that I can truly call me own (yeah, I'm weird like that). I'm not saying your idea was bad, just not exactly my cup of tea.

As for everyone else, thanks for the ideas . I'll keep checking sites and hopefully I'll find something.

If you do not need "Full HD" you should be able to find a nice price reduced "HD Ready" Set. I just bought a price reduced 32" HD Ready Sony Bravia V4000 from Amazon for my room. I mostly use it for PS3 gaming.
