On my iPhone 3G, my password was a string of 7 numbers and the 12-digit keyboard would come up when I needed to type it in. On my new iPhone 4s, I need to type on the qwerty keyboard which is a pain.

I can't use the "simple" 4 digit password because my work email makes me have a longer password on the phone.

Similar thing happened to me and I had to re-add the work account and then set up the password as all numeric the first time it forced me. Now I get the numpad and an open box (instead of the 4 squares) to type the password into. If you change it after the fact for some reason it always brings up the qwerty keyboard.

Either remove and re-add the account if you can or reset all settings in general - reset - reset all settings. This will make it so you have to set up wifi, push schedules and a few other things again but it should also force you to recreate your (im guessing exchange for work) password, which, if you make it all numbers it should go back to using the numeric keypad for you to unlock it.

FYI my pw is 7 numbers and this works for me.
