Anyone know if the "iphone" restrictions will apply to ipad

-On my iphone, I can not download an MP3 file. When I click on a DJ's mp3 file on his web site, it plays it with Quicktime, but it won't let me save it to my device.

-On my iphone, I can not copy music from more then one computer. I have both a PC and a Macbook pro at home, as well as a PC at work, and I had to make an unfortunate decision which computer to copy stuff from and that's the only one I get. If I try to copy from another computer, it erases all the music off my iphone to allow me to copy from the new computer.

I'm hoping that Apple will ease up on this with ipad, but not holding my breath...

I don't know for sure but I would assume since its the same operating system (just a newer version) it will be the same.

As far as I know you can't save a particular file of any type on iPhone/Touch to any location within the phone with the exception of images.

That's been part of the iPod copy protection methodology from back when the iPod was released. It hasn't changed since.

Not true. You can manually manage your music on an iPod in a way you can't on the iPhone. The iPod way allows to you copy music from as many computers as you want.

If you get music into the iTunes library, can you drag and drop music to your iPhone? That's what I do for my iPod. I sync to one and drag & drop music from the other 2.

Not true, with the ipod you can select "manually manage my music", and once you do that, you can drag and drop music from any computer you hook your ipod up to.

When the iphone/ipod touch came out, they changed that. You can still "manually manage" your music, but it's paired to ONE computer, the first one you hook it up to and start copying music. It's always been a severe flaw in my book, especially since I'm a DJ, always on the go and sometimes I need to throw some new promos that the label emailed me onto my iphone so I can listen to them while driving or working out at the gym... But Apple has made it very difficult, to the tune of me almost wanting to buy a "Backup" mp3 player for those emergency moments.
