Just wondered. I think I remember something from WWDC about Lightroom coming to the App Store. I'm also curious if its CC or Classic.

Tanagra (not really)
I guess I would be surprised if it happens since desktop LR is now part of a subscription-only model. The Adobe apps on iOS are free, but with some limitations for non-subscribers. I don’t recall the original announcement you are referring to though. Maybe they have something similar in mind for desktop LR?

Interesting. Wonder if it will be a limited freebie, kinda like how Lr CC mobile works on iOS. It would be a good idea on their part.

To be clear, the announcement was about Lightroom CC in the MacOS App Store. The only app from Adobe that I can find in the Mac store is Photoshop Elements 2019.

Don't they already have this now? This is an old thread but still, figured I'd update it.

Also, you can purchase a Lightroom CC subscription on the iPhone or iPad so that's no excuse for them holding out on macOS app store integration.

And it's CC. Seven day trial, then normal CC subscription rates.

I don't really see any advantage to the user buying on the MAS, but maybe there's something.

They’re making so much money on subscriptions they can afford to cut Apple in on those that go beyond Trial. That is, once Apple kills LR6 with a new OS X.

There are often promotions and deals to buy discounted iTunes Gift Cards which you can then apply to your account to pay for those subscriptions- so in the long run, it could be a tad cheaper to go that route.

I'm trying to figure out how to switch for the CC versions to the Mac Store one without losing anything and support is not really helpful so far though... Anyone tried it yet?

So how much is the subscription fee on the MAS?
Since you can't really get Lightroom alone from Adobe, and Lightroom is the only Application available on the MAS?

From what I read the price is the same as it is for the Lr CC only (non Classic, non Photoshop) subscription outside of the MAS (good tip on the gift card discounts though, thanks!).

And you CAN get Lr CC alone. It's the $10/mo, 1TB online storage plan with just CC. Not Classic; that you cannot buy alone.
