I just bought a Nomad modern build leather band for my SB AW. It looks similar to that pic but in black. I love the look of their lugs.

They have a great deal on their classic tan horween leather strap - $37.50 (have to use the coupon code listed at checkout)

at $60, I may have to spring for one. really like how this changes the whole profile of the case. and the quality sounds impressive.

Agreed. I like the squared design. It gives the Watch a different appeal.
The classic tan watch band being offered for $37 is not made of Horween leather (they refer to it as "Italian" leather, and Horween is 100% based in Chicago) and does not include the current "squared" off custom lugs they use. Instead, it utilizes the same tubular designed lugs Apple uses. So just a warning, if these are things you are looking for.

Something very similar to the squared off lugs can be found on Amazon for around $10 a pair. They aren't identical to the custom ones Nomad now uses, but they are very close, and allow the use of traditional spring bars. I've got a few and they actually fit better than most of the other generic Apple Watch lugs out there. The one problem with them though, is they are not polished on all of the exterior surfaces for some reason, so I had to do that myself for the ones I've got. Still recommended though. (pic of some straps I've made to show the Amazon lugs attached)

First time I've heard of these guys, the Horween Gray looks sweet too. Can I really afford not to get one? It's like 60 bucks for a different watch.

Thanks for the info. But I actually prefer Nomads design and incorporates the lugs attached. I really don't want to purchase the lugs separately away from the band. I understand I could save a little money, but Nomad makes a decent product.

Yeah, i was mostly just trying to point out that the ones Nomad has on sale don't have those new square design lugs, and the leather quality is a lot lower than their full price offerings. In fact, it looks to be not much nicer than ones that can be had on Amazon for under $20.

FYI, i have the square lug connectors also (aftermarket)...they make the watch look odd...stretches the square/rectangle look of the watch too much. The loop-type (Apple) lug connectors is more subtle and matches with the soft curves of the Apple Watch.

Just my 1 cent.

I was kind of wondering if I'd feel the same way seeing it in person. From pics, I like both types of lugs for different reasons.
