I've been thinking of making the move for the bigger screen and ports, but has anyone else moved and found a reason they felt they shouldn't have?

I did. Only reason why I did was because I was able to upgrade to the 14" for next to nothing.

Was it worth moving...sometimes I think yes, sometimes I think no. Would I have been fine with the Air still? 100%. Having extra ports hasn't been useful to me yet, but I am not the target audience for this computer.

I actually did the opposite, moving from 14" to MacBook Air. I was worried about a lot of things "downgrading" my device, but I quickly discovered that while I certainly miss the better screen, webcam, and speakers, I didn't find the extra size & weight, cost, less battery life, and larger charger to be worth it. The air is great and I don't notice a difference in performance.

I just moved from the 13-in M1 MBP (16GB/1TB) to the 14-in M1 Pro. Main drivers were 1) desire for a slightly larger screen with better specs, and 2) getting rid of the &*% TouchBar. Funny thing about the TouchBar--I was completely neutral toward it when I bought the machine, in fact I was looking forward to seeing what it could do. I grew to absolutely loathe the thing, and found it greatly detracted from my experience using the machine. I guess I've learned I'm a fixed-function key guy. Pretty expensive lesson! ?. But, to answer your question, I'm not at all sorry I made the move--I'm loving the upgraded features, and this is the nicest laptop I've ever owned. Clearly not the smartest move financially, but YOLO.

I did. The 14" display is the perfect size for me. The 16" was too bulky. It's not much bigger or heavier than the Air. I also wanted a bit more GPU power, and the extra performance cores are nice too. I love the display, and the thinner bezels.

I probably shouldn't have upgraded, but I'm glad I did.

I moved from the MBA 8GB to the MBP 14 16GB. I needed more memory, wanted more ports, and need more power for some programming I'm doing. The MBA is a great machine and still recommend it. I've had some problems with the MBP 14 - trackpad goes wonky if I'm in low power mode. I would recommend staying with the MBA if battery life and portability is most important. I would recommend the MBP if you need the ports and more power.
