Well in my local apple store which is in Braintree Massachusetts it's very diverse. I mean you have white, black, indian and asian people working there. Also they have a person in a wheelchair and someone who looks like they have some developmental disabilities but were quite helpful! Anyone else this at their local stores or do i just have a special store :)

True but they don't have to accept them (Well on a certain level yes) but some apple stores I have went too just have a lot of Caucasian people and no minorities.

Did you just say that Apple doesn't have to accept minorities (you're on the way to getting this thread locked) as if they were of inferior quality?

However, I have noticed a serious lack of women employees that could moonlight as Victoria Secret models. Apple's HR should get to work on that. Oh, perhaps that would frighten all the nerdlings that congregate around the Power Macs . . ;)

I didn't take the OPs reply at all that way. I think he was simply saying that employers can often find (legal) ways around EEO laws to select only the particular type of persons they want to hire. That sort of thing does occur...

My thoughts on this subject, after working several years in EEO compliance: Businesses that have a well-rounded group of employees usually have to be willing to make some extra effort to achieve a diverse workforce.

This topic is disgusting and discriminative. All people have equal chances, no matter how they are, why are you bothered about it? Someone please lock this thread.

Some of the replies to this thread are just comical. I don't think there's anything wrong w/ what the OP said--he's just saying he noticed more ethnic diversity working inside Apple. There's nothing wrong w/ that--I think the ppl who get bent about it are the ones with issues, not the OP.

Anyway, back to the topic... I don't know about racial lines, but certainly there are certainly more women working behind the genius bar at the store I go to. Women Genius' a lot more through and less ego-maniacal than their male counterparts.... the last guy who looked at my computer looked like a drug addict and smelled bad. If "image" is what Apple is trying to sell, then I find it ironic that they had this guy working there. I wouldn't want him handling my food, let alone a notebook.

Yes the apple store does seem to be diverse. America is becoming more and more diverse and intercultural marriage is contributing. I read in one of my family text books that by 2050... the "cultural section" of family studies will be taken on because it will no longer be relevant.
