It's been happening this past week...

Notes take forever to sync.

Reminders also; I check "Done" on my Mac, for example, and it doesn't show as Done on my phone until up to an hour later.

Sporadic iCloud Photo Library syncing as well; it took over an hour for a single photo I took yesterday to finally show up on my Mac. After a trip Thursday it was taking so long to upload my photos I ended up manually transferring them from my phone to my Mac using USB so I could work on them.

It's just been slow and flakey all around and didn't used to be like this; I want to know if there's a general problem or if it's just me. Apple's service status page is green all around so if there IS an issue they're not acknowledging it.

I don’t think it’s just you. I’ve noticed very slow syncing of Notes and also accessing iCloud documents via Files. I’m hoping it means they’re trying to optimize things there, because performance has not been great since IOS 13 hit beta.

It seems to me iCloud is doing a lot more than what Google does. You post things, there's a pointer, and it just lives up there. If I create an iCloud document, it takes its sweet time to upload and it's hard to tell if the doc will be available.

I just turned on iMessage in iCloud for the first time and I’m over into uploading 6GB of messages. Seems pretty slow.

I have upgraded my phone, restored from iTunes backup including all photos and it’s now trying to upload everything to iCloud again even though it’s all already there. 12 hours and counting....

It took just 5 minutes for Google photos to compare local photos to remote backup and upload only new ones.

Trying to download Catalina for my iMac. Really slow there, too. Possibly related?
