Hey guys!
So, I'm thinking about forking out the $25 for an iPod 30GB 5G invisibleShield. But I've heard mixed thoughts on it's installation. Anyone own one? Some thoughts would be much appreciated on both the installation and usage afterward. Thanks so much! :)

I'm thinking of getting one for my MacBook. Anyone had good results?

I have 1 on my iPod it works perfectly, not much to say about it since it does exactly what it says it does. Just take your time making sure you put it on correctly because once it is on (and dry) it takes a lot of effort to remove it.

My manager has his PowerBook G4 protected with the notebook version personally I think it looks bloody horrible _BUT_ it does do what it says and has been doing so for months.

I've heard nothing but good things from people with them, did you see the demonstration video? check it out on their website, its Amazing:cool:

Before you order one of these, check out www.bestskinsever.com. These things are all made out of the same materials, but bestskinsever is much, MUCH cheaper. I have one on my iPod and it'sno different than the invisible shield for my PDA- the only difference is that it was much cheaper, so I can get three for the same cost.

And no, I don't work for them, just wanted to point out that you can get cheaper options that are basically identical.

Thanks for the opinions guys. My main question was, is it really hard to apply? I've heard mixed things about that. Also, it is removable, yes? I mean, I know it is hard to get off, but it is possible...?

Hard to apply? No, but you need to take your time. Once you soak both sides down, it's easy to slide around. Tamp dry after you have it where you want. Then squeegie (sp?) the bubbles out. Removal I don't know about as I do not want to remove it from my Zen.

If I were to take it off, would there be "water marks" or residue from this stuff we need spray on? Anyone know? That is my only other concern. Thanks!! :)

Honestly, I have had two of them and they never go on right. If at all. To be sure I wasn't an idiot I had a few friends try it too. To no avail.

Maybe we are all idiots but the application process is the worst experience and idea ever.

I got the invisible shield for my ipod. Was it hard to apply? I'd say no but it took me almost two hours to get it right. I haven't taken it out since, so I don't know how difficult it is to be removed.

I think it will be much harder to apply to a macbook due to its size compared to an ipod. The aesthetic of a matte surface will be replaced by a slightly shiny and slightly rough surface of the invisible shield.

It's important to let the shield completely dry in a dust-free environment after applying.

I have this for an ipod and it is probably the best product ive ever purchased, I also got it for my macbook, and I must say, I am very unhappy with the results. it simply does not fir as smoothly as the ipod, and looks quite tacky. ( for all you doubters, yes I put it on properly)
