Anyone put their imac on a small desk?

Hi guys. I’d like to get the 27” imac but am concerned that its too big for my desk. According to Apple’s site, the width of the imac is 25.6”. My current desktop sits in a corner of the study on a table with a width of 27.5”, with a slide out keyboard and mouse tray.

I don't’ have anything else on it except for a powerstrip so the imac should fit, but aesthetically speaking do you agree that it would look too large for that desk? The imac is a work of art, but putting it on a small desk probably makes it look worse. What do you think?
 
It will probably look a bit out of place, but I don't see why that should prevent you from buying the computer and using it. You're paying over a thousand dollars to buy the computer to use it not look at it. (I hope :p)
 
Aah, you’re forgetting about the “missus approval” factor. She won’t like it if the imac screws up the interior decor of the room. Looks like I have to settle for a smaller screen.
 
I sold my new 27" and went back to a dual core 21" as my workspace was only 18" deep! The 27" was just too big and I love my 21" which is perfect!

The biggest is not always desirable:eek:
 
Hi this is my first post however i have been a long time reader. I have a question regarding desks. I am looking to buy the 27" iMac when the update is released and i am going to buy a desk in the next few days i saw one which i like however i was wondering whether a desk with 60cm ( 24inch )depth would be big enough. I would just like to hear your opinion and what size desk you use with your 27" iMac. Thanks. As for the OP i would just try and get a bit of a bigger desk i wouldn't let a desk get in the way of you getting the iMac you want.
 
I thought you could hang these (21 and 27") on the wall? This would clear up desk space. Has anyone tried this? Do they like it?

I'm hanging mine on the wall after the glass cracked due to tipping over....

Yeah mounting it on the wall looks like a good idea. Is it any VESA wall mount or is there one specifically designed for the iMac 27?
