I finally ordered/ received my AirPods a couple of days ago but while my order was in process I was using my older EarPods at work for some online training. My ears are killing me after having them in for 4 straight days, I'm afraid the AirPods are going to be uncomfortable also if worn for long periods of time. Anyone else regret buying them or move on to another kind?

I don't actually regret them, however they do not meet all my needs.

All pros and cons are only my experience:
Pros:
Comfortable for extended wear, I forget they are in at times.
Good sound reproduction for my expectation
Pull one out to pause, and reinsert track continues, great in an office environment.
Switches fairly easily between devices

Cons:
When running always adjusting them, jamming them back in my ears
Air travel, do not push sufficient volume for spoken word, podcasts, etc.
Wish they could be simultaneously connected to two devices i.e. watching a movie on an iPad and being able to take incoming call on phone.

I purchased a pair of Bose Soundsports and they are doing the job for running and air travel. Both look goofy, but I am of sufficient age that I don't care ;)

Nope. I don't regret one bit. They fit my ear very comfortably and never fall off my ears. I can even wear it for more than 4 hours. Plus better sound quality then EarPods in my opinion.

To each their own

I’ll agree with the second post.

I love my AirPods but for air travel you need either earbuds or over ear monitors.

I didn’t even bother getting them because the EarPods never stayed in my ear. I just went ahead and bought the Beats X and I love them

I never used the EarPods because they didn't sit in my ear.

I look a chance on the AirPods and surprisingly they do.

Just bought a second pair after losing my first one. I am a fan.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase as I've had the airpods for about a week. But so far I'm loving them. Their sound seemed to improve over the course of the week as well. At first it seemed the focus of sound as in the middle of my head. But now the image has widened some.

It's real easy to switch them between devices, including non-Apple devices. I love that they are wireless and the cord doesn't pull them down or I make sudden movements and they pull out. They just stay in. I haven't been on a plane with them yet, but imagine they won't do well there just as the earpods don't. I believe only over the ear type will work well in that environment.

I use mine with my lawn mower. I do have to crank the volume up as there is no isolation. If anyone goes into these things expecting isolation, they will be disappointed.

I got mine on launch day and I haven't regretted it at all. I use them almost daily. They are perfect for what I use them for. Phone calls, walking and easy use.

I had the same issue with the EarPods. I took an old pair and cut the cable to test them before I bought the AirPods. I found out that in my case, the cable was causing the EarPods to fall out for me so the AirPods were the perfect solution.

Bought them on launch day, use them every day. I've had some minor complaints with them (volume, bluetooth connectivity, etc.) but overall I stand by my decision to buy them. I will probably buy another pair at some point so I can just leave one at work in my desk and one for when I'm out in the world.

I'm also thinking of getting a pair. One question for the group though - what's the likelihood that Apple will release an updated version during September?

No regret at all. I bought three pairs and am getting more for every placeI am always there when I can pick up at Apple Store without waiting for days. Never too many to have. AirPods is simply the best 2016 Apple innovation.

If the Apple watch is any indication, the next iteration of AirPods may not be announced until the spring. They are still new and have a ton of feedback that they may try to accommodate. With that said, you don't have long to find out seeing it's already the middle of August. Where has the year gone?
