I can’t remember if the 8th gen supports the fast charging. I know the 9th gen is coming with the USB-C blocks, but cannot remember about the 8th.

The 8th gen iPad comes with a 20w USB-C block.

Thanks - I just ordered 9th gens for several grandkids, so I knew that had the usb-c, but couldn’t remember what the 8th gen came with.
The iPad 9th gen does support 18-20W fast charging.
The iPad Pros have supported fast charging since 1st gen (except Pro 9.7) and the Airs have had it since the Air 3 (alas the excess heat seems to have contributed to the bright spot).
Sorry, I thought by fast charging, the OP meant 0 to 50% in 30min like MacBooks and iPhones.
That may be possible with the upcoming M2 iPad Pro.
