I'm looking to upgrade, and wondering if the 2017 iMacs (specifically the 27", not that it should matter,) support an external 5K display plus a second external display. Apple officially only says "one 5K display or two 4K displays", it doesn't say if one 5K plus one even 1080p display will work.
My 2012 MacBook Pro doesn't claim to support 4K displays at all, and only claims to support two external displays at a time, yet it works fine with a 4K display (at only 30 Hz, yes, but still, it works,) PLUS two 1080p displays. (While the internal display is on, as well.) So I'm hopeful that the new iMacs support at least a second external lower-resolution display plus a 5K.
I'd love to get a 5K iMac plus the LG 5K display, and still keep my 'three displays' I've gotten used to. (The third would be either my existing 4K display or my existing 27" 1080p display.)
So, has anyone run the iMac plus LG display, and plugged in a second external/third-total display?
