Im loving the new for me 2015 iMac 5k I got., but now I have a spare 27" TB Display from my old mac mini setup. The 2012 Mini is going to work as a headless backup server, and Im not going to need the TB display anymore and I even have an older TB 24" display in the attic.

Just wondering if anyone is running a TB display as a 2nd or even 3rd monitor?

Would the difference between the 5k and the old 27" TB be that noticeable?

Luckily I don't have room on the desk for more monitors, but those two spare TB sockets on the macs seem like they want to be used :)

The difference between the Thunderbolt Display and the 5k display in the iMac is huge. There’s a massive resolution difference between the two and the older displays have inferior anti glare coatings, if any.
The 24” display is not a Thunderbolt Display; it’s an Apple Cinema Display that uses Mini DisplayPort. If your 27” display doesn’t have an Ethernet port, it too is a Cinema Display.

The 27" Display I have is the 27" TB display, it has the ethernet port, if i had the room I'd put them side by side to compare. Guessing the is a difference would be too annoying.
