I have a stock 1.83Ghz Mini that I'm planning to use as my main computer while we save to get an iMac or a Macbook. I'm going to upgrade the ram and HDD and maybe add a DL Superdrive as well.

I do some graphic design, and I'm wodering how my Mini will do with the Adobe Design apps. I know Photoshop might be a little slow...Anyone else running Adobe CS3 or CS4 on their Mini?

I've got a MM C2D 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, with the whole Adobe CS4 Suite installed. I regularly use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, all without problems.

Granted, I'm sure the programs would run faster on other higher spec machines, but they also all running at a reasonable pace. I have noticed Illustrator getting a little choked when asking it to do something intensive.

I upgraded the RAM in my machine, and it made a noticeable difference. I've definitely recommend this if you have the opportunity, especially, as it's so cheap.

My Mini is a bone stock and it runs CS3 ok. It's fine with normal files, but if you do any high res stuff, it will start to get sluggish fast. I'm in the process of getting some more ram, from 1 to 4, so I will let you know how it goes. I haven't tried CS4 outside of Beta, so I'm not quite sure how the finished product runs, but it was a tad bit slower than CS3.
