So, what is your experience? I'm especially curious on how the new video card (2600 Pro) performs for this.

I'd also like to hear some feedback on this...especially the 2.8 ghz model vs the 2.4 ghz model.

I am running the trail and it runs very good. I have a 20" 2.4 with 1gb of ram.

When I imported my iphoto library it took the computer about 10 min to finish the hole process im talking about importing the stuff and creating the previews.

My library was about 1200 pictures about 2.5 GB worth of pictures. Average picture size is about 2 to 3 MB

The card handles it just fine and i think it will run very good once i get the extra 2 GB of ram to make a total of 3GB of ram.

I have the higher-end 20" iMac and Aperture runs great on it. I never had it installed on my old mac so I don't know the speed difference but I probably upload 30-50 pictures into it a day and it takes about 5-10 minutes. I'll be buying a 2 gig stick of ram soon so it will be running even faster.

i currently am running Aperture on my PowerBook G4 1.5ghz.

i have well over 10,000 images in it.

i ordered a 24" 2.4ghz iMac w/ 1tb HD, it should be here next week. once i get it, i'll post some info on how much of an improvement it is over what i'm used to.
