Anyone Running EXCEl (Mojave) ?

Hello,

You folks seem so sharp with all of this, thought I'd try.

About a year ago i bought MS Office Home and student (for the Mac)

Excel was always "flaky", but it worked.

Now, it just seems impossible to pen up.

Nothing works:
clicking on the App itself in the Applications Folder
or, clicking on an Alias
or, clicking on the icon in the Dock

or, trying directly from the Finder.

Just won't open up now, at all.

It's vers. 15.41 dated 12/2017
Running Mojave.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to try next.
I can try a re-install, but am very, very leery about wiping out WORD which
came with it, and works.
Not sure if it would even allow me another re/install ?

Any thoughts on what to try would be most appreciated.

You're running an ancient version of Office. You can update it by running one of the Office apps and checking for updates from the Help menu. If that doesn't work, you can manually run the Microsoft Autoupdater which is in /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0.

As you run through the Office updaters, you'll see that the Updater itself also has updates—it's a different download but you need to do that when prompted also. An old version might not bring Office up to date and doesn't always trigger the update to itself. That's a bit odd but you can download the latest Office Updater if you need to.

It's a bit time consuming but, between the two types of updaters, you'll get both of them current eventually.

Once done, you can have Office check for updates every time you run the app or on a scheduled interval. I have it check monthly.
