im wondering if anyone still prefers useing a one button mouse on osx even with being able to enable a two button mouse..

I do. I'm so used to having a one button mouse from years of use. I tried to get used to left and right click when the mighty mouse first came out. I ended giving it up on it.
I have all but the two side buttons disabled. Those I use for expose. I always have one hand on or near the keyboard, for a quick control click.
The only thing I'm thankful for, is Apple finally gave us a scroll wheel.
For gaming I do have a logitech mouse.

I don't. I've been using a 4-button trackball since before I had my own Mac. That being said, I never had any of the buttons set to right-click until I started using Mac OS X (or just before maybe; I can't remember).

When I moved out of my parents' house a few years ago, I left my 700 MHz eMac, which my mom uses on a daily basis. It still has the 1 button mouse that came with it.

As for me, I use a 3rd party mouse with 5 buttons on my laptop. So, no.

Apple Pro Mouse; the only mouse I've ever liked. I've bought a few spares.

I don't like lots of buttons and scroll wheels on mice, they make my hand hurt after using it all day... so one button for my entire hand while using lots of keyboard shortcuts with my left hand makes for a speedy and comfy Mac experience.

Nope. I have a nice Logitech mouse with more buttons than I know what to do with. I've had it for 3-4 years now.

I used a one button mouse for years until I got a new iMac a few months back. It came with a Mighty Mouse, which I like, except that I had to deactivate those blasted side buttons because I kept hitting them accidentally all the time.

If there's anything that history has taught us, it is that Apple does not seem to have a clue about making a decent mouse. So, the first thing I do (and which I advise friends to do) when I get a new Mac is I leave the crappy mouse in the box and use something much, much better from either Microsoft or Logitech.

I was exactly the same as that. I used a one button mouse for pro work for years and years. Everything else seemed excessive and uncomfortable. Then I discovered the MX1000, which fits my hand brilliantly and has thumb buttons that I just couldn't live without anymore.

I think it's important, in terms of efficiency, to know all your shortcuts. This is something you learn pretty quickly when using a one button mouse.

I use control-click for right click, and have the second button disabled on my mighty mouse, because it is terrible. I do love having a scroll wheel and expose on the mouse though, the only time I use a true one button mouse is on some of the old g5s at 6th form(college if you are american:p)

I'm currently using the Apple BT mouse, I also have a white Pro Mouse that I use when I've forgotten to charge the batteries for the BT one.

I do have a Mighty Mouse but use that less often.

Guess I only have a single button touchpad when in Bootcamp on my Macbook. But then I only almost always use a USB 5 button mouse.

Couldn't live with a 1 button mouse anymore. I never had to deal with one, even my early 90's Amiga had a 2 button mouse.

Which history book did you get this from? :p

I didn't get on at all with the old one button mouse when I switched from Windows, even though it was a good mouse. I was so used to having the right button and the scroll wheel it was just easier to use another mouse.

I've got no problems at all with the Mighty Mouse and the shape seems to suit me as I don't like the big wedge shaped mice that seem to be popular now.

I very rarely, if ever, use a mouse on my iBook, so I pretty much use the 1-button trackpad. Unfortunately, the button has started not clicking. :(

On my G4 I'm using a Kensington ci70 wireless mouse with three buttons, and I have a Logitech MX Revolution which I don't feel like using right now.
