Essentially as the title says. While I didn't grow up using Apple systems, I did have a teacher with an iMac G4 that included the A1048 keyboard. It always left such an impression on me years later.
Imagine how surprised I was to discovered that some diehards are still using these keyboards two decades later.
It was only shortly after getting a Power Mac G5 that I went out of my way to get one of these keyboards, and I have to say I'm impressed with how well the A1048 holds up, and that's coming from somebody with multiple Topre keyboards. I gave mine a good cleaning and took the advice of this YouTuber who was modding his with lubricant.
Anyone else still really impressed with this keyboard, maybe even still using it as a daily driver today? I've been looking for more excuses to type on it ever since I cleaned it up and lubed the sliders. By the way, if anybody is thinking of lubing the sliders, I recommend using just a little lubricant to get a crisp typing experience. Too much results in the switches feeling a little spongy, but you can always wipe the excess off with a paper towel to make it nicer.
