Anyone switch from Evernote to Notes?

what has your experience been like? How did you do it?
When you save a PDF to notes does it OCR it? If the PDF is already OCR'd will notes search within the PDF?

It's not even comparable. Notes doesn't OCR the PDF. I haven't tested with an already OCR'd PDF but I doubt it'll search within it.

I wish. So many apps are moving to a subsciption model, and maybe im old fashioned but it just annoys me. Wish i never got hooked into evernote

I moved but it was because I didn't need the power of Evernote. I needed/wanted something more simple to record ideas or documents with a searchable header. A quick sentence as the header describes the document which is just a photo really. My use is basic so the basic Notes is good. Way better than it used to be. Drawing tool is nice too.

Definitely fits this use case well. But if you want OCR or need collaborative sharing of notes then you still need Evernote.

I have moved back to notes, but I admit it is because my needs turned out to be very basic and I wasn't using most of Evernote's advanced features. On the flip side, Evernote was turning out to be too bloated and slow for what I wanted - to be able to quickly take down notes.

I was using drafts, but I never did get the hang of their automation and dropbox sync features. The ability to create checklists in Notes removed the need for one key Drafts feature - the export as reminders list function. Not to mention that the developer of Drafts has been basically releasing a new paid version every year (essentially turning drafts into an annual subscription-based app. Not that I mind paying (what's $10 a year?), but I just felt I wasn't getting my money's worth. That and the lack of a desktop version of Drafts made accessing my notes on my Mac inconvenient.

Notes fires up quickly, syncs across all my Apple devices and lets me quickly take notes, so it's "good enough" for me at the moment.

I moved back to Notes in iOS9 after a few months with Evernote, but I was never a hardcore Evernote user. Most of my needs are more than met by the Notes.app in iOS 9 and I have the added advantage of a simpler/less bloated app. I'm a bigger fan of the new features in Notes on iOS 9 than I was of the Evernote app overall.

Unless Notes on Mac gives options to set default font size or minimum display font size, just... don't bother me. Fonts are super small on Mac, really, and copying Style or setting Font Size every time I started writing or reading something new on Mac is super annoying.
