Have both here. Tomorrow the 14 day return window for my pro ends. Still not sure. Got the max yesterday but currently it’s still too huge in some circumstances and in my chino pants. Probably only want the max for the battery life.

Did anyone the same switch? Do you regret it?

Unfortunately you are going to have to decide on what works best for you since it is all personal preference. I personally use the Max for bigger screen and better battery and when I go back to the smaller screen I just cant do it. But between all my friends/family they are basically a 50/50 mix of Max and non Max so no clear answer.

Yep, you will have to decide for yourself what is best for you. If you leave this thread open long enough, you will get a roughly 50/50 split of opinion. It might skew a bit more toward the Max this year because of the 5x camera. But it will still be in the neighborhood of 50/50.

I really thought about it, with the 5x camera. But ultimately decided the 3x (and resolution & low-light improvements) were enough compared to my 12 Pro. I definitely like the smaller size. But of course that’s a very individual preference.

After trying the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the Pro had terrible battery life and the Max is too big and heavy, so I returned both and got the regular 15. And voilá, found a perfect match - light, great battery, compact. First year I don’t go Pro. In love with the 15.

I had the same dilemma, used both phones on my vacation, its my first bigger screen phone since 7 plus, been only using the smaller phones from X - regular Pros. It comes down to your usage, I went with the Pro Max because of the battery. On my 14 Pro I have to recharge it once during the day and when i start using map, whatsapp, safari, IG, the phone would warm up quite significantly. The battery is slightly better on the 15Pro but by only maybe 5-10%

Also the weight of the 15 Pro Max has reduced significantly, sometimes when i hold both side by side, it almost feel like they are the same weight.
Choosing a thinner case would help too, I went from the Woven case to silicon case, and the phone feels less wide and more grip. If you go with even thinner case, it would feel even greater in hand

I went from the 14 Pro to the 15 Pro Max after having the X, 11 Pro, 13 Pro, 14 Pro. So a history of the smaller option for a long time.

with the 11 Pro and 13 Pro, battery was good if not delightful. The 14 Pro was a step backwards.

As soon as the smaller phone did not have all the top features, the desire to switch was strong.

This generation was a great one to go bigger. The caseless Max feels great in the hand and lighter than older Max phones. The added battery and screen size has been a major win.

One handed use is slightly diminished but a pop-socket helps. Bit more annoying in a pocket, but I am happy to have a Max now.

I'm at exactly the same point as you.

I have both and tomorrow is the last day for returns and I still haven't decided.

The pro is the IDEAL size and weight, but the MAX's battery is brutal.

As for screen quality, although the pro's is smaller, it gives me the feeling that it is better, slightly brighter and more vibrant colors.

My heart says I have the PRO but my head asks me to keep the MAX.

Whatever I do, I'm convinced I'll regret it :(

I went from 13Pro to 15 Pro Max and then settled with 15 Pro.

My main reasoning for going Max was bigger screen and longer battery life. But in the end then I couldn't justify it. With screen size then I was surprised at how little "extra" you get from the slightly bigger screen (probably a line or so of text). And with battery then it was funny because I kept trying to drain the battery like a youtuber but I'm just surrounded by too many chargers to properly drain it (car, office, home...). So in the end then if I can't force a battery discharge then maybe I shouldn't care so much about battery capacity.

So when I had to make a final decision then I realized the Max benefits didn't outweigh the feel of a more comfortable one-handed Pro phone. But on the other hand, my wife has always been a two-hand phone user so she went from 12Pro to 15 Max and will never go back to a smaller phone.

Update: returned the PM. Its just too big and heavy. The Pro feels Perfect in my hands. The PM still feels like a brick (i liked the 11PM more)

Just did that earlier today too. The 5x camera was not enough to get me to put up with the bigger phone. And, in some ways, I found the 5x to be a downgrade from the 3x. Very happy to be keeping the Pro. It’s a joy to use without a case!

13 PM to 14 pro to 15 PM. I prefer the max, battery life is much better. It is also light compared to last years models.

I'm returning my pro tomorrow and picking up a max. I'm quite sad honestly, but the battery isn't allowing me to work like I need to. I'm a real estate broker and need my hotspot on when I'm working with clients or at a home and need to use my computer. The battery drains so dang fast when I'm on it that it's dead when I get home at 2pm.

I don't care about the bigger screen or anything else. :/

You don’t charge your iPhone to your computer when using hotspot?

Not judging, just curious. I always have it plugged in for hotspot.

No, but even if so - apple car play also destroys my battery especially with GPS. Yes - it could 100% be fixed with cords, but I try to avoid brining a bunch of cords wherever I go because there's already enough files, booklets, and other documents in my laptop bag. I'm realizing this is a personal problem. lmao.

I’m seeing fine battery life using hotspot quire a bit with my iPad and MacBook Pro - though that’s for personal use so maybe not as much as a real estate broker would do. However I have a charger in the car too, so it’s GONNA get a charge every few hours.

If you don’t have frequent charge opportunities, Pro Max sounds like the right move.

12Pro to 15Pro Max… Very happy with the larger phone. Not as massive as the 14. Hence, feels better in the hand. Probably staying with the Max format from now on unless it increases further in size.

I’ve had Max phones since the 11 Pro Max > 12 PM > 13 PM > 14 PM > then got the 15 Pro on pre-order day.
Picked it up on day 1 and loved the new size, but ultimately ended up returning it for the 15 PM.
I really loved the new size for portability and pocket carrying, but missed the screen real estate when typing or reading things. Also the battery was a HUGE step down. I use my phone more than average and just hated having to charge at least once every day.

I’ve had the 15 PM for 2 days and fully happy. The lighter weight and better feel make it an improvement over the 14 PM.

Stick with the Pro. If the decision hasn’t become clearer by now, you might as well save the extra cash and get a truly portable phone. If you truly loved the MAX, you would have made up your mind in favor of it by now.

What makes me not convinced by the max is that I notice that the display it comes with is worse than that of the PRO, since it is less bright and gives me the feeling that it is more yellowish.

stick with the Pro, max is still a beast, a lot to carry in the pants... a pain IMO

Your reply is just begging for some humor, but I'll refrain. 😂

This is completely a personal preference. For some the Max is too big, for others it's not. Only thing we can definitively say is that the battery life is better on the Max. And the camera I suppose, if you care about 5x optical zoom.
