Hey,

I just had this thought because yesterday my Apple Business sales guy was pushing me hard to lease the entire mac pro, but I went and purchased it in one swoop.

Now I'm wondering - wouldn't it be a better deal maybe to cancel my order, get it with the base GPU but Lease a Vega 2 Duo on top of that maybe for 36 months, to be able to simply upgrade the GPU after 3 years?
Would that work?

Sounds like a pretty smart way to do it, no?

How much is it to lease? And after three years do you simply give it back?

EDIT: I'm now getting Apple finance to quote me on a lease or HP. Totally makes sense, as it gives you the option of owning or trading up…

For the Business Finance Lease, you have the option to return your equipment and refresh with new, in-stock equipment under a new lease, purchase your equipment from the leasing partner for the current fair market value, return your products to the leasing partner and end your lease, or continue to use your equipment by continuing with the lease agreement and making post-term payments.

For the Hire Purchase, you have the option to own the equipment by paying the Option to Purchase Fee, or return your equipment and refresh with new, in-stock equipment under a new lease.

it's 0% leasing, you just split the price over the months and afterwards you give it back and get a new one if you want, or can buy it out by paying another 3 monthly rates.

Yea, I was considering leasing the whole beast, but decided against it - but for the GPU it might make a lot of sense actually.. Who wants to buy a used Vega II MPX Module on ebay after 3 years?? Damn, should I cancel my whole purchase, re-order with 580 and lease a single Vega II maybe?

Apple leases require a $4K minimum and accessories/components must be tied to machine lease or lease to own. Let us know if you can find another way to lease components from Apple directly.

I see, so that answers it then. Was a great idea though :)
anout the minimum in general you’re wrong. On the German website it says 1500€ Minimum. But it also says it applies only for iPads, iPhones and macs. Nothing about accessories so I’ll take your word for it.

what the heck, just need this monster to be delivered so I can stop 2nd guessing my choice. :)

Was speaking with my local Apple business rep today and told him about this idea, he said it's actually brilliant and would totally work. Dang! Now I just don't want to give up my spot in line and cancel my order anymore... but he said he could lease me the second VEGA II on top of the machine if I want. Maybe I'll do that.

It's obviously not a lease directly from Apple through CIT. Good to hear they're more flexible with options internationally.

Huh? You're saying that at the end of the lease you can choose to give it back to them (for nothing in return) or pay *just* 3 more months and keep it? That doesn't sound right.
