Anyone tried out FileAid?

I saw this app posted when checking out the Black Friday discounts, but there aren't any reviews (as of my posting this) and the developer's site isn't all that descriptive. It sounds from the description like it can not only transfer audio and video files but play them as well... But since nothing else has been able to do that AFAIK, I don't want to drop $7 on it until confirming it...

FileAid tested

My first thinking is that's a very good app :

- The file transfer by FTP is more speedy and stable than WebDAV used in Files or Air Sharing.
- The user interface is very easy to use. Files
sortings by name, date, file type or folder is very usefull
- Supported files formats are same of others
filemanagers for the iphone. You can play videos and songs (only default supported iphone formats).
- The best for the end : You can upload files
to FileAid by USB using DiskAid. That's probably the best fonctionality.

Ah, so it can actually play the video and audio file downloaded to it? That was my biggest issue with MobileFiles- I wanted to be able to use it to download video to watch remotely but it can't play them, just store them on the iPhone. If this actually lets you watch an iPhone-compatible file after downloading it, it may actually be worth the money to pick up.

I'll probably wait until they have the FAQ for it up to get some more details though, as I wouldn't be able to make serious use of it for a few weeks anyway. If it uses FTP to transfer, it should be possible to transfer to it from my Linux box though, which is another nice bonus.

play audio & video

Yes I have tried to play videos and audio files with no problem.
Seen on the DigiDNA website, formats listed seems to be supported :

- Audio (MP3 VBR, AAC, Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF, WAV, CAF)
- Video (standard iPhone formats : H.264, MPEG-4, 3G)

I'm having trouble putting files actually on the phone. Are you all using DiskAid to transfer files over? If so where are you putting the files....I've been trying to get a few PDF documents over and get it to show up on the list. Thanks!


*EDIT* Found the solution online. had to create a DiskAid folder in DCIM using DiskAid. Works like a charm!
