Anyone try one of those wraps on the Apple Pencil first version?

I tried both versions in the store. I didn't notice lag differences with normal writing but the first version is round and glossy while the 2nd version is matte and has a flat edge. THe 2nd version is easier to hold. Has anyone tried a wrap on the version 1 Pencil to get more grip? I've seen some creative ones that make it look like a #2 Pencil.
