It IS a separate card.I doubt the wireless module is on a separate card on the machine. Especially on a thin laptop like the mb/mbp.

802.11n utilizes 3 antennas whereas 802.11b uses 2. It wouldn't be difficult to add a third if CD MacBooks aren't prewired.Erm...what? There are antennas in the old MacBooks...

Well 802.11b and 802.11g both utilize 2 antennas, but yes, more specifically, 802.11g.* you mean the 802.11g in macs (you said 802.11b.)
The two antenna system isn't a requirement of the spec either, basicly the card monitors both and antenna and uses the one with the better connection. Only one is actually used at a time.
