I noticed that Apple originally estimated 2 hours for today's event. If you went to their website and tapped "Add to Calendar it said 10:00-12:00. Also they left out information about OS X 10.11.4 being released today.

Seemed short to me.

Actually the Liam info was pretty top secret according to the Mashable article I read. Only a few people within Apple knew about it and it was a 3 year project. Pretty cool too.

On the topic of being disappointed with no One Last Thing, not really. I thought it was nice to get the updates on things, kind of sad that they don't cap leaks though. I always try to catch the live streaming events or at least follow along on real time blogs if none available to stay in the loop so to speak. I'm pretty sick of listening to the guys over at CNBC that seem to always grouse about something. Today they were complaining oh are we reporting on band releases now. How revolutionary is that? Give me a break. The company is telling it's users about new things coming out. That's part of it and quite honestly I have an AW and so yes, enjoyed hearing about the new bands. I'm sure a lot of old iPhone users who don't want a larger phone liked hearing about the SE. And those that thought the iPP was too large for their use were probably interested in the smaller iPad. I love my iPP, and Pencil, wouldn't go back to the size of my older IPad2 but it was a good size for as long as I had it.

Oh and I downloaded iOS9.3 for my iPP after the announcement and am using the Night Shift now as we speak. Much easier on my eyes in dimmer light. Really like it. Always felt the bright white screen no matter how you dimmed the brightness was very harsh at night.

Meh~ I wouldn't have leaked it if I knew. It's like telling people they are updating the 'Sync' button in iTunes.

No one cares about a dismantling robot. However it does know how to dismantle an iPhone very precisely.
Who knows, maybe soon enough Liam's cousin knows how to build one.

From a technology standpoint I thought it was interesting. Sure not something that directly affects you as a user but 11 seconds was pretty cool. Always thought automated assembly lines in processing plants were fascinating. Seeing it in reverse, even more so to me.

Not saying I'm not impressed. But if we're talking about advanced robotics (not the Sony dog), this seems quite elementary. Surely with enough calculation/input, it knows where to unscrew the parts. Asia long has robotics doing advanced precision stuff down the manufacture line. There's robotic arms that make coffee everywhere, power ride vehicle with advanced movement at theme parks.

Seems like re-inventing something very specific (I bet won't even touch a device that's not an iPhone 6) behind closed doors without a particularly good reason.

Between the coasts
I was kinda hoping for "One more thing." After the various wry comments from the stage alluding to the leaks, it would have been nice for them to come back with a, "And you thought you ferreted out all the secrets!" But all the same, I also got tired of hearing terms like "revolutionary." If the "one more thing" isn't truly mind-blowing, why do it? So, a tip of the hat to Tim & Co. for a bit of restraint.

There were a few nice surprises along the way, but none that would get the kind of universal oohs and aahs that would justify saving them for the last. It's just as well. A mediocre "one more thing" would have resulted in countless, "Clearly, they can't innovate like Steve could" comments.

You underestimate the "news scoop" mentality. It's not a matter of whether someone cares about a dismantling robot (they'd probably be far more interested in a self-dismantling robot)... we're at the point where the competition for clickbait is so stiff, it's far safer to post it in hopes that someone will find it interesting, than to dismiss it out of hand.
