I plan on using my friends discount for 15% off whichever iMac I end up choosing, but I'm also waiting for the free iPod promotion to further offset the costs. Do you guys think apple will let me stack discounts like that? Ill be mad at myself if I wait it out a few weeks and then don't get the extra discount, but I can't ask anyone who works there because they always deny any future promotions.

Btw I'm a longtime pc user and advocate and I'm finally jumping ship. Sick of the bs!

You can't use the 15% discount and the iPod promotion at the same time. It's two different discount types. It's either you go with the 15% and get a free printer (if you want) or go edu and get the edu discount + iPod + printer.

Copy that. Ordering it online tonight. This will be a verrrry long and painful weekend.

i have used the discount, as my friend works for apple. but i have got 27% off?! plus i can claim back VAT on my fathers business.

I must say, the 27" is massive!!! set it up an hour ago :) my first mac!!

must be different discounting for the UK. For U.S, it's either 25% personal or 15% for 3 family or friends.

Ya, my buddy gave me his 15% discount. What was nice though is I had a $700 Apple Gift card (I won an iPad in a contest and the Apple store gave me stores credit for it) and you can still use a gift card even with their corporate discount. So I got the decked out iMac 27" (3.4 i7, 2GB ATI, SSD+2TB) and ended up paying about $2150 :D

Bought 16GB of RAM from OWC, and I paid ~$2350 all together.

Selling my Mac Pro this weekend as well as 2 24" Dell monitors, gonna get $1150 for all that, so in all I'm paying $1200 for an amazing new computer.

I'm so stoked :D

What model of MacPro is that? I'm considering doing the same thing but expected to get more for my MacPro than that.

It's a 2006 model. I'm selling it for $750 because I don't want to wait weeks on someone wanting to buy. At this price, I've had 6 people email me already and it's a guaranteed sell.

I have 2 24" 2407 Dell monitors I'm selling for $200 a piece, and I have someone picking those up on Sunday.

So now i just wait :D (Wait to sell and wait 4-6 weeks for my iMac )

Not used friends and family as education discounted worked out cheaper when apple care was included

but you cannot use 2 discounts at once.
