Anyone use "CleanMyMac"?

Can't speak for the current version, however, in past versions that app has been overly aggressive in that it "cleans" too much. Besides, it's really not needed as macOS is not like Windows.
The choice is obviously yours, but I would advise against it

So if you go to the Apple Support Communities you will find that apps like CleanMyMac and MacKeeper are often being cited as apps that cause more damage to mac systems than they do good. They have a tendency to delete needed system files. Now the one thing you need to know is that the mac looks after itself and any app that promises to clean optimise or otherwise improve its performance is just not likely to do so. also the mac does not need any anti virus software, but keep abreast of adware/ malware with Malwarebytes, there is a free version.Considering buying, I downloaded their trail few back and just remembered of it few days ago lol.

If you have installed this software you will need to uninstall it according to the developers instructions as it spreads its files throughout your mac, so a simple delete of the app will not do.
I use this and without any problems. On the Mac, simply dragging an application to the trash does not delete it entirely. The app still has traces in the Library folder and so on. CleanMyMac removes them for me.

I don't use it. Never have. I use AppZapper to uninstall apps - it gets the hidden files/folders and removed the app completely. Significantly cheaper than CleanMyMac, and it doesn't "clean" my Mac nearly as aggressively as is reported by CleanMyMac.
Hmm, I find the windows uninstallers more capable, not less. On my mac it seems like there is a ton of crud and sometimes running processes leftover from an uninstall which is very rare on windows outside malicious software.
That said not a fan of "cleaner app's" at all.
That has not been my experience with Windows programs in general. Uninstallers are famous for leaving behind numerous Registry entries which are difficult to track down and remove. macOS has no Registry to contend with which is why simple free uninstallers work fairly well. Mac apps that install kexts usually come with an uninstaller which when invoked will remove the kext and any process associated with it. Those types of programs can not be dragged to the Trash to uninstall.
Setapp my friend! That has been the best discovery for me so far in the last year. It is a subscription but it gets you a ton of apps and I am using 18 of them! Totally worth it IMO and Clean My Mac is part of that.

Like all other app removal software, neither CleanMyMac nor AppZapper does a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this and this. If you just want to delete the app, drag the .app file to the trash. No other software needed. If you want to completely remove all associated files/folders, no removal apps will do the job.
The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
Add me to the chorus of those who believe the program is not really needed and can do more harm than anything else.
