I am considering getting a hard shell case for the MB, just like the techschell and speck case for MB.

I was looking at the ones on ebay because I like how they're completely flat and come in better colors IMHO.

I am wondering if these are cheap and don't fit the MB very well. Anyone have experience with these?

I'm looking for either an orange or yellow case.

Also, I'm worried about the case in general. I can imagine dust getting between the case and the MacBook and causing scratches, similar to what happens with iPods and hardcases. Also, I can see wear happening at the contact points where the case clips onto the MB. Also, is the thickness added annoying?

Thanks for the help :)

Hard Case

I have a Spec case for my Mb, and a techshell for MBP. I would avoid the generic or "non branded" ones as I have seen some of them close up and they are no where near the quality or fit of the above two.

I have not seen any wear yet on the places in which the case snaps on or has snap piece. I also don't see how dust could scratch the outside of the computer case if it got inside and rubbed against each surface. Perhaps something else could. You could always take the case off every now and then and clean both computer and case surfaces.

Oh wow, I didn't even know those existed. I'm totally buying one.. orange too, my favorite color! :)

Pay with PayPal though, that way you're protected and if it does suck, they CANNOT refuse you returning it ("Significantly Not As Described," Buyer's Protection Policy). :D

I have a mbp and I ordered a speck see thru hard case for it and it works pretty good. I dont use it anymore just because it adds a lot of bulkiness to the mbp. I wouldnt suggest getting an off brand case just because you don't know what kind of quality you are getting. Are you getting a case to protect it from scratches??? If so I would suggest looking at the Invisible Shields. They look pretty cool and they supposedly do not scratch ever and they will replace it for life if it ever scratches or whatever. google invisible shield and you should go to the shieldzone.com one

I bought one of these back in June, so far no problems. Fit is great, tight, no squeaks or loose parts. I looked at Speck, but for $20.00 or whatever the price was I'm glad I bought this.

Now the ebay outfit, if the same one. Where a bunch of *******s. They had if you buy it now and pay now you got a free ipod case. Never got it! I also bought one of those rubbery keyboard covers, after I bought the hard cover. I got to looking at what else they sold and found the keyboard cover. I bought it and asked about combined shipping, they said no since I did not buy at the same time as everything else! WTF!! I bought the KB cover not 10 minutes later.
The products are fine but, the business practices are terribe. Never got the "free" ipod cover either.
