Just tried connecting a Korg MicroKey 32 to my 2018 iPP with USB C and the keyboard didn't show any power. I was using the midi to USB A cable supplied with the keyboard and it was plugged into a USB A to USB C adapter cable. In my 2018 MBP (USB C) it worked absolutely fine, but I was having no joy with the iPad. Anyone got any experience? Thanks.

I doubt the iPad can’t supply the power your keyboard needs. You might need the multi port adapter so you can plug in AC power.

That would probably work, but I’d rather not have to do that - the keyboard works fine with lightning alone when not plugged in to any power, so surely there’s a way to do the same with USB C.

I was speculating. If it works with lightning, do you think the USB-C to USB-A adapter might be the problem? For $5-$7 (plus shipping) you might try one of these direct cable solutions.

I was thinking of that, but it did work in my Mac so I couldn’t see why.

I’ve actually opted for an upgraded version of the keyboard which includes Bluetooth connectivity - that’ll be more useful in the long run.
