Anyone using the iOS 9 GM with iPhone 5s?

Too early to tell. So far my 5S is working flawlessly since 12 hrs. No excessive heating or sharp battery drops noticed.
We have to let it settle with new OS for a day so that it completes all the CPU intensive tasks like full indexing of files and sending and receiving error and diagnostic reports of a fresh install.

Understandable. When I had PB3 my phone would heat up within a minute just from launching my bank app so that could just be a compatibility issue? But it would even happen when just going into messages. Within your 12 hours have you had any fast heating issues at least? That was my main problem. If not I'll defiantly give it a try
I installed after work yesterday. My 5S has not been overheating, but the battery life has been horrible. For example, just now 18 minutes of web browsing has dropped my battery by 10%. No background app refresh and brightness at less than 25%. It's bad.
True. I won't judge it so soon. I'm going to be seriously disappointed if this becomes the norm though.
Sorry to bump a old post but I ended up installing the GM and I had 12 hrs, 21 mins standby and 4 hrs, 34 minutes usage with 8% left. No WiFi was used only 3G (4G doesn't work due to my device frequency) within the last hour I was constantly on Facebook, Messenger and Snapchat. Low Power mode was active for about 5 minutes but it seemed to drain faster for me so I turned it off. Minor stutters here and there but nothing bad.
Siri stopped responding to me at one point but that's been fixed now. Phone doesn't get as hot as the last beta did, but still warm. Can easily tolerate how it is compared to the beta in terms of heat. Hopefully the next updates improve on it and heres hoping for a enjoyable start to a new iOS

warm cause ur using cellular..+ crap apps like facebook & their messenger which are some of the bulkiest cluttered battery hogging apps ever. u should try using the 3gs or 4 with cell data while charging, becomes a toaster

But first: are we absolutely sure that the ipsw files on imzdl are safe to use and bit for bit correct?
In other words, does iTunes check the hash sum of the file before installing and verify that with Apple?

I'm wondering same thing. I'm currently jailbroken on my 5s and want to update to iOS 9 this week but if everything I hear about it being bad I might just wait until 9.1 because that seems to be running well according to what I've read
I ended up going back to 8.4.1 while I still could. After 4 days the battery life still hadn't improved. Performance was acceptable, but I can't get by on only ~3 hours of usage a day. Sucks because I already put watchos 2 on my watch, so it's useless now until I go back to some iteration of iOS 9. Hopefully they hurry up with a 9.0.x or 9.1 update that fixes battery life issues on the 5S. As far as I can tell it's been almost universal for 5S owners.
I was a bit worried after reading some of the reports, but this release seems fine so far to me. Performance-wise it doesn't seem worse than iOS 8.4.1 and it may even be a bit faster.
The battery life isn't great, but it never was particularly and the phone seems quite cool most of the time, the exception being when hammering wifi. But note: I do have some bits disabled (e.g. background app refresh). I can well imagine that with different bits enabled, running different apps etc., that your experience might also be different to mine. I do not wish to generalise.

Most used app iTunesU (44%, mainly watching video lectures).
I was hesitating to install this because iOS 7 -> 8 wasn't a great experience for me, but then after watching this video I was encouraged somewhat:
So, thus far a moderately positive update for me and, if iOS 9.1 can improve on this, then I think I will be content. That is, assuming nothing nasty materializes.
So, if you're undecided, I'd say give this a try and see how it works out for you.
