iPhone 3GS is unable to communicate with certain in-vehicle systems, notably (because I have one) a Subaru Outback Sat Nav system. Can someone write an app that enables the iPhone to push the contact phone numbers onto the vehicles phone book via bluetooth. It works just fine with Blackberry. How could Apple overlook such a basic requirement for iPhone users. Many people would pay for this. The hapless Subaru folk say you have to key them in one by one. Not an option!

It works with my Parrot 3400 in-vehicle system. In fact, it worked when I had an original iPhone, as well as my current iPhone 3G. Perhaps the Subaru needs an update.

Its not a problem with software from the phone, its a problem with the software on the NAV. You'd need an update for your car.
