Did anyone install Win7 yet via bootcamp?

Be interesting to see CPU frequency idle and under load reported by CPUz.

Its amazing how silent this machine is,
just wondering what it runs the CPU at when idle ,
and how it ramps up under load....

Getting Boot Camp set up is my "tonight" project. I'll download CPU-z and take a look.

It appears to run the CPU at 800MHz at idle. It boosted to 2.6GHz.

How is windows 7 battery life? Trackpad drivers?

I don't know about battery life since it was plugged in, but it was running much hotter in Win 7 than in OS X, and the fan was on more often, so I'm guessing it will be worse. I'll tweak the power settings and see what happens.

The trackpad works the way it always has in Windows, which is to say not as good as OS X but usable.

I also noticed that I couldn't access or even see the Mac partition from within Boot Camp. Perhaps its because I activated File Vault on the Mac partition, but I'll check that out.

If you have file vault on, then (currently) you'll not be able to access your mac os partition from bootcamp.

Have optimized drivers been released for the new air yet & bootcamp ? It may explain some users reporting hotter than normal temperatures and such if these machines are running without optimized smc and fan control drivers ?

It's the Core i7 in the 11".

Thanks. I posted a question on Apple's support pages, and it appears people with the older Boot Camp versions are getting BSODs when they try to access encrypted partitions, so I guess having an invisible one is an improvement. It's too bad since I'd like the ability to access it as well as encrypt it. Overall, though, encryption is more important to me, so I think I'll leave it as is. Perhaps I could create an unencrypted "shared" partition.
