Anyone with 4670 numbers and WOW?

I need to replace my white iMac that was supposed to go upstairs but has decided to flake out after four years (meaning I will end up with two new iMacs in one year , i5 and.....)

So I am curious how both the 21 and 27 inch machines do with the 4670. The only reason to lean towards the latter is my upstairs office has my elliptical and other weight machines and exercising is so much better while watching a DVD or the like

Compared to my HD 2600 in my iMac, the HD 4670 is a big improvement. Should be fine for WOW at max settings.

Though benchmarks in 1st link are for more recent games in so-called "mainstream" (or low quality settings), obviously the 4670 will also run many other games (but not all) at max settings fine (as does my HD 2600 for lots of older stuff, like "AoE 3" incidentally):

The HD 4670 won't of course satisfy dedicated gamers of high-end stuff. If you wanted to Boot Camp some of the latest graphically-demanding PC stuff at high quality settings, the HD 4670's performance is fairly average. In link below it's well down the list, about 5th from bottom (the HD 4670 crossfire version is better):

I'm thinking of upgrading to a new iMac myself from one using the HD 2600.
Benchmarks are useful but just how noticeable is it?
I don't suppose you play TF2 and could give feedback on how much better it plays?

I'm curious about the 4850 with WoW, TF2 and L4D in Boot Camp. I'm getting the 27 inch 2.8 quad with 8gb ram.

My guess is I won't be able to run native resolution since 2560 x1440 is a pretty large area to be pushing pixels too. I'm fine with running games in a window. I'm wondering what kind of frame rates I can expect. Even now with my GTX 260 Windows box I dumb a lot of stuff down (in TF2 and L4D) because while having the graphics pumped makes it look nicer, the game play is generally so fast that I don't notice it that much anyway.

Sorry, can't confirm how TF2 runs from personal experience, but the 2nd poster in linked thread claims it "works perfectly" on his 4GB MacBook Pro with 9400M integrated video:



Obviously the HD 2600 comes with 256mb VRAM & is a much better card than the 9400M, whilst the HD 4670 should achieve about twice the fps as the older HD 2600 in my iMac. Hopefully someone can confirm the new iMacs' performance with these games.
