hmm.... it may work in OS 9 on a PowerPC. You can give it a shot.

Hey...

Does anyone have a 68k Mac that's still working and the ability to record a good quality video from it?

I have a few 68k graphical demos that I wanted to get recorded into some sort of video form. Divx, h.264, whatever I can get it in.

Any takers?

The apps are here and can be downloaded at these links:

thanks

There is no such thing as 68k graphical content. JPEG, TIFF, PICT, BMP, MPEG, MOV, and numerous other formats play or display just fine in most of the latest apps. If you are interested in a particular app or set of apps, then please specify the app(s) that interest you.

I have a number of 68K systems and a Nubus video capture card with both composite and s-video out. I could run the apps on one of those systems and capture the video on my SGI. My Macs treat the card as if it was a regular video card so I could use it as my main display.

I'd have to collect together the parts to make the system, but I think I could provide quicktime movies of those apps running.

That would be wonderful. These are just a few apps I had written back in the day, and would like to keep them around in some form. The 3 apps are linked above, the direct download links are:

http://users.visi.net/~arn/ChaosMintv1.0.3.sit.hqx
http://users.visi.net/~arn/FlagDay1.0.1.sit.hqx

These arn't 68k graphics perse, but were written for Mac OS 7 in 68k assembly, so they may run on newer machines, but I think there are some oddities on the PowerPCs.
