Anyone with El Capitan or Sierra on iMac 11,2

Hi guys! I have an iMac mid 2010 (iMac 11,2) and i've put an SSD Samsung 850 Evo 256GB. Although the machine doesn't support Sata III, it runs pretty smooth with the OS X Yosemite that i have right now.
But i want to update my machine, at least with the El Capitan, because i would like to use the iMovie and the program doesn't run on Yosemite.
I wanna ask if anyone with the same machine made an upgrade to the El Capitan or Sierra, and have an ssd drive on, if it is ok to upgrade the machine, or if it will make it slower

A mid 2011 iMac, 21.5-inch (which is an iMac12,1) does support 6.0Gbps SATA.
Yours would be a mid 2010 (and is an iMac11,2) and yes, has the somewhat-slower SATA bus.

Now that you have added an SSD, you should be good-to-go with Sierra.
In my experience, Sierra feels "snappier" compared to El Capitan (on a 2012 Mac mini, closest that I have to your 2010 iMac.
And, you didn't say anything about RAM, so you should be good if you have 8GB or more, particularly with the SSD.

Yes I don't have any problem with the RAM. I have 16GB on my machine.
And the mid 2010 11,2 machine only supports SATA II, 3.0Gbps.

You did say in your OP that you had a mid 2011, so I was then assuming that you hit a wrong key there...

Working off an unsupported mid-2009 MacBook Pro with an SSD (also SATA II limited), Sierra does perform much better than El Capitan, and doesn't feel much different from Yosemite.
