My iPhone 4 with iOS4 had many issues with the home button..iOS5..seems to be all gone. One click, takes me to home screen or spotlight, two clicks, multitask bar. Anyone else having a better time with their home button with iOS5?

Sounds like yours was just a software issue then. Glad you got it cleared up!

Unfortunately for me, mine's still b0rked. If I understand correctly, it's due to a defect contact in the home button assembly. As the warranty period on this phone is long gone, it's my excuse to get a new 4S. :)

Ya I was shocked all my clicks were registering 100% of the time after I updated, I'm used to clicking 3-4 times before getting what I wanted to do :p Sorry to hear yours didn't work out, hopefully the 4S works perfectly for you! I'm somewhat jealous but am hoping the iPhone 5 comes out in June, (I'm trying to hold off until then).

Yes, I noticed that my home button was good to go, until yesterday the home button became unresponsive again like it did on iOS4... :(

My home button was responsive for a few hours after a clean install of iOS 5. But it didn't last. Once all the apps were installed and everything was set up right it got unresponsive again...

Same here, I've had enough, thought the clean install + iOS 5 would solve it.

I'm headed to the Apple store next week, going to attempt an exchange.

Took my iphone 4 to apple and they ran some diagnostic tests and then told me that there was something wrong with my phone.. So they swaped it out with a brand new iphone 4. No problems with the home button now and hoping in 6 months it will be fine... but I doubt it.

LOL...I thought I was the only one:)

My home button feels like I got a brand new phone. It was definitely a software issue for me. I've been using iOS5 since release and I've yet to have to "double" click my "Home" button.

Kinda sucks actually, as I was going to self justify a new 4s purchase myself:) But iOS5 is awesome! Really, really cool...and I'm sure I'd dig Siri, but I'm fine, til stock is up and I can walk in and grab exactly what I want

My home button isn't 100%, but it is leaps and bounds over where it was with iOS 4 :) glad I'm not the only one who it has helped!
