I know the iPhone X/Xs are only slightly bigger than the 6/7/8. Wife has a 7 which she swears is the very biggest she wants and could comfortably handle. Smallish hands, etc. Unfortunately, her 7 is showing signs of wear, slowdown, radio glitches, etc. We've wiped it and set it up as new and still isn't great. AppleCare is over, and I really don't want to pay to repair it. Nor do I want to pay $ for an 8 with its now outdated tech, screen, etc.

So, for anyone - male or female - with small hands...anyone go from an iPhone 7/8 to an X/Xs? Did you previously think you couldn't go bigger than the 7/8? What has it been like with the slightly larger form factor?

TIA

My partner went from iPhone 7 to iPhone XS. Despite reservations about having a slightly larger device, he’s found the difference to be barely noticeable. In terms of width, there’s so little in it and it’s width rather than height that tends to cause issues for smaller hands. The extra height means you can’t always use the phone one handed without shifting its position but there’s still reachability to help with this.

Thanks for this. Wife has definitely mentioned height...she can *just* get to the top of the 7 with one hand. Wasn't thrilled with the reachability feature on the X for whatever reason.

My hope would be that she'd adjust and sort of forget about it eventually. I wonder if anyone has gone back...

I’m sure people will have gone back. I went from 8 Plus to XS and couldn’t be happier with the screen size.

I'm in the same boat, have fairly small hands for which I felt my 7 was the limit, but still went to the XS. It's definitely harder to use one-handed, but I've honestly gotten used to it very quickly. The reachability also isn't quite as easy as it was with a home button, but it works.

I went from a 6s to an X and Love it. I don’t have small hands but have no desire to do a plus sized or max phone. I still have my 6s as a backup and when I use it the only thing I notice is that the X thicker..

You can buy the 7 again for a really low price (not in Apple.com...)

And problem solved!

That’s incorrect, you can purchase the iPhone 7 direct from Apple as a ‘refurbished’ device, which essentially is new with a display, casing and battery.

I mean not in apple if you want a low price. I bought a brand new 7 from Amazon for 439€ (instead of 529€ in apple.com).

I switched from SE to XS (better camera) but I am thinking about returning it.

The home button is missing, the key arrangement on the side is disadvantageous, the grip has been lost, the notch stupid and the XS is no longer incidental to use. I have big hands, and yet I have always loved the small size of the old iPhone.

I've never actively participated in the discussion about when large display size gives me "freedom I need", I find Phablets and large trendy phones embarrassing.

Yes me too, from SE to the X, then to the 8 (because of eye strain on X) and now to the 7 (the 8 seems too expensive after using the X).

I like the SE form factor but I also like taking and editting pictures of my kid, and for that I want better camera and bigger screen... I´ll buy the XR and see how it goes, it´s really big... but the SE is too small and the camera a little outdated compared to the X...

I´m all day sitting in front of an iMac working and I don´t want to sit again to edit photos... If I weren´t so many hours in front of the imac maybe I´ll consider stick to the 7 and edit after in the big screen.
